Psychologist Sweeney Young on How to Deal with Heartbreak, Anxiety and Depression

What a treat to have one of my best mates on the pod this week. Sweeney Young is a psychologist and also former Neighbours actor. Sween and I have been friends for over 15 years. We met back in our acting days both having appeared on Neighbours (at different times). We also spent a lot of time in LA when we were doing the acting thing over there.

With our common passion for human behaviour, Sween being a psychologist and me being a master coach with a focus on mental and emotional health, we have some really great conversations.

So this ep is a bit of a sneak peak into the conversations Sween and I have.

In this ep, we delve into:

  • How to deal with heartbreak
  • The difference between heartbreak and attributing it to self worth
  • The connection between heartbreak, pain and love
  • Sween shares his first heartbreak
  • How anxiety and depression can be defence mechanisms for other repressed emotions like anger
  • How to process emotions and not avoid them
  • Healthy ways to express anger
  • Being emotionally intelligent vs blissfully unaware
  • 3 different approaches to therapy that may help you

Plus so much more!
